That was a “true-to-genre” horror film. When was the last time you saw an Indian horror film without an item number, out-of-nowhere jokes or hyper-sentimental flashbacks. The last time I had an authentic horror cinematic experience was for this movie called “Game Over”. So how can I miss the next movie from the same director??
The story of Connect is pretty much straight forward. In Fact the crux was very hollywood-y. It was also relieving to see an Indian horror film set in a Christian premise. Can’t remember the last time I saw one. In Spite of the simple story , It is the brilliant crafting that keeps you hooked and in some cases it keeps you at the edge of your seat.
I discovered something funny last night. A good horror film is where you see the movie crowd go “AAhhhh” to “HaHa”. People start laughing out of fear!! At times they also start chit chatting with their friends to keep themselves distracted and not get scared. Now, that’s not true bravery guys. I was stuck in between two such gangs, it was both fun and annoying.
